TEACHING
Fall 2019-Spring 2020 Center for Teaching and Learning, University of Pennsylvania
Graduate Fellow for Teaching Excellence
As a Fellow, I worked with the Center for Teaching and Learning at the University of Pennsylvania to help graduate students gain fundamental skills as educators. I created and facilitate workshops, observed teaching assistants to help them obtain a certificate from CTL, and met regularly with CTL to improve my own teaching.
Fall 2018, 2019 Center for Teaching and Learning, University of Pennsylvania Teaching Assistant Trainer
I have also been a Teaching Assistant Trainer for the Center for Teaching and Learning (Fall 2018 and Fall 2019). As a trainer, I developed a workshop for graduate students across the university focused on teaching problem-solving recitations to undergraduates. I am specifically invested in helping teaching assistants communicate to a mixed audience of both STEM and non-STEM majors. I also moderate teaching scenarios and teaching demonstrations from the incoming graduate students.
Department of Earth and Environmental Science, University of Pennsylvania Teaching Assistant
I have served as a teaching assistant for three courses for the Department of Earth and Environmental Science. I have taught recitations for Natural Disturbances and Human Disasters (GEOL 103) and Earth and Life Through Time (GEOL 125) as well as the lab for Paleontology (GEOL 205). I also received a Teaching Certificate from the Center for Teaching and Learning.
